With Yahoo! deciding to get rid of Geocities, I spent last night backing up my shitty website from 2001. I haven't updated it in over five years and it's probably been a good year and a half since I looked at it. It does however have a collection of unfinished fic by yours truly most of which isn't on ff.net or other websites.

Through the entire process I found original fic by MEL, was horrified in my graphic choices, and also found a Pinky and the Brain chat log I did with Smitty (which was incidentally part of a DCU fan fic.) Overall though? Lots of whimsical reminiscing but no real regrets. I suspect that once it does go boom I won't have the effort to actually drag it all back online (and really a lot of it doesn't deserve to be online.) So for all your nostalgia needs, you can hang out with Sherman and Mr. Peabody via the wayback machine.

1. After talking with kc_rumors, I think I've come to the conclusion that Kate Brewster-Connor has become akin to Lois Lane for me. Despite the problems with the third movie, at the end of the day, I'm perfectly content with John ending up with Kate at the end world.

2. Updated my series/cross canon timeline which is hiding way, way back in a community. I still have to update the Google Maps as they finally gave the Connor's house a street address. Phyrric victory there.

3. Does anyone eventually want to beta a future-present time travel-riffic TSSC/T3 fic for me? Hand holding would be good but not necessary.

I've decided. I shall buy Season Four of House when it comes out on DVD.

1. I Can't Quit You Baby by xaara
This fic is fun and amusing and wonderfully written. The comedic timing is the best thing ever. Set from Dean's POV it's all about investigating talking sheep which comes off more interesting, intimidating, and amusing than it should be. The best crack is the in-character crack. :D Wincest lite but nothing that'll throw you off or stretch your imagination too terribly.

Fic bits: "No," says Dean. He's officially creeped out by this now. This is not cool. "You're not getting inducted into the sheep herd."

Sam frowns. Dean looks stern. Sam pouts. Dean wibbles.

"Fine," Dean says.


2. Untitled Supernatural/Fullmetal Alchemist Drabble by arboretum
This is a hundred word drabble for a challenge comm and anyone whose seen FMA will immediately get the jokes and the parallels. The situation is just so outlandish and beautiful that I can't not love it. Very much gen.

3. Untitled by sunsitenthai ♥
This one is set pre-series while Sammy boy is at college. The fic takes place as a series of innocuous phone calls from Dean that are more day in the life-esque than anything else. It alternates from cute to bittersweet and back again. The fic does end suddenly but the author is totally aware of that. It's totally one of my favorite stories that explains the two year-four year script slip. (Sam! Dropping phone into toliet!) Shades of het.

Fic bits: "... Is it a possessed pencil?" Dean says seriously.

4. Acting on Initiative by la_folle_allure
This is based off cherryscott's Damaged!Verse which is RPS/SPN wherein Dean and Jared meet and eventually hook up. A series which I highly recommend actually. However, I am a total Sam fangirl and this story throws Sam into wonderful interaction between both Dean and Jared which makes me giddy with glee. (Fic also has an awesome scene with Jensen that I adore.) I really love Jared's characterization to the jealously and the pettiness and the entire range of emotion that comes with all the history of the original universe of being second best to Sam. And I love the weight of Sam and Dean's relationship even after all the time lost. Very much Wincesty and RPS.

Fic bits: When Jensen speaks again, his voice is neutral and forced - rehearsed. "I'm not Dean, Jared."

Jared feels like he’s going to be sick. "You’d choose Sam, wouldn't you?"

He doesn't know how Sam can do it. The research is tediously long and in three different languages and aside from turning himself cross-eyed, Jared can't do much to help. He wants too though, which is pretty much why he finds himself waiting for Dean to fall asleep before he sneaks out, just like Dean once did, and visits Sam.
